Psych: The Complete Seventh Season

Psych -- A Super Fantastic Show!
Psych has about four million viewers each week on the USA network. For some reason, however, the program hasn't become the cultural institution it deserves to be, especially amongst young people. I suspect that in time this will all be amended: when the wheat is separated from the chaff, Psych will always come out on top.

The narrative format of Psych is conventional, and the production design is generic. Even so, every week Franks, Roday, et al., manage to draw water from a stone with an incredible cast, a quick humor, and a bright sincerity. Within a comedy television landscape dominated by irony, sarcasm, banality, sadism, and satire -- Psych goes to show that it is still humor which effects the most authentic laughter of all.

The rapport between Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and his Watson, the "super-sniffer" Burton Guster (Dulé Hill), is without precedent in television: I defy anyone to name a comedic duo with better chemistry. Roday's timing is...

Psych is one of my fav shows, this season is weird
I think they have new writers or something. This season seems all over the board. They seem to move a little quicker and in a less coherent manner. I have been a fan for years and will keep watching, but I hope they bring back the old style.

The Six Million Dollar Man: Season 4

THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN: SEASON FOUR - OCTOBER 8, 2013
This is another fun season ('76/'77) of the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN as Lee Majors sports a pencil thin David Niven style mustache that at the time was met with some ambivalence among fans and viewing audiences as it was thought to detract from his character and was subsequently removed towards the end of the season. Season four sees an excellent crossover three part episode with the Bionic Woman called "Kill Oscar" along with the entertaining and 'campy' crossover "The Return Of Bigfoot".

I bought the complete series from Time/Life and am greatful that the individual seasons are being released in a timely/measured pace for consumers who find it more economically feasible to purchase one at a time. These individual releases are the same ones that were released by Universal through Time/Life where picture quality is concerned, however, will NOT contained the bonus feature disc. Where picture quality is concerned, fans will not be disappointed.

This is one great fun TV show... Hope the put SDH/Closed Caaption on it.
The Six Million Dollar Man is a great Fun TV show. And well worth getting on DVD. This was when TV was worth watching..
I hope they put SDH/Closed Caption on it as they did on seasons 1-3.. Looking to get season Four.

The don't make great shows like this any more.
Nor do they make great stars like Lee Majors. Most shows you liked as a child really stink when you view them years later through adult eyes but this show is every bit as good.

Defiance: Season One

The Frontier at the Ends of Civilization
When Nolan, the jaded scavenging veteran at the heart of the new Syfy series Defiance, strides from the Lawkeeper's office early in the pilot episode, seasoned viewers will recognize the streetscape. With storefronts built of reclaimed materials and stacked cargo compartments, it distinctly resembles the Eavesdown Docks from Joss Whedon's Firefly. And for good reason, since both shows shows channel the same American frontier mythology.

Frederick Jackson Turner's seminal 1893 essay, "The Significance of the Frontier in American History," identified the idea of frontier as the defining trait of American society. Crossing the invisible line from society to wilderness allows individuals to shrug off confining Euro-American stipulations of hierarchy, subjection, religion, and money. But Turner lamented that the closing of the American frontier, according to the 1890 census, marked the end of American pioneer fervor.

Firefly, like Star Trek before that, rejects that...

Well Written, Well Executed SciFi
My husband and I really enjoyed the pilot episode. It was far better than so many recent entries in the genre. We hope our support will keep it on air if (as we hope) the writing and execution continue to hold up to the high standards set in the opener.

Definite Potential
For some reason the first episode was released early, but for those watching now or watching on the 15th, the show has great potential. Its not perfect, and the first episode has its slow parts, but overall it was enjoyable to watch, especially as you get to the battle near the end. This is the first time a game and tv showed have been tied together like this, and as a player of the game I really want to see Defiance end up successful for everyone involved. We need more companies, and people, willing to try new things and I hope future episodes continue to improve as the story expands and the cast gets used to working together. The cast itself is pretty solid overall with a few well known names involved. Jaime Murray (Spartacus/Warehouse 13) and Julie Benz (Buffy) being two of my favorites. Farscape fans will also notice one of the people behind Defiance is the creator of Farscape, Rockne S. O'Bannon. We need more good sci-fi shows out there and so far Defiance looks like it could be...
